15×15 cm, oil on canvas, 2024 Weronika Tlałka
The painting refers to a personal experience of accepting change – the initial resistance to the necessity of wearing glasses and the emotions associated with it. The first reaction was full of discomfort and reluctance, but over time a new perspective emerged: the glasses became not only a tool for correction, but also a symbolic ‘second look’. It is an additional pair of eyes, thanks to which it is possible to see things that are inaccessible to others – both literally and metaphorically. The work addresses the subject of redefining weakness as a potential strength and the transformation of self-perception
